This week’s theme is about finger foods … something that you eat using your fingers, I assume. lol. That’s why I wasn’t quite sure what to post … I eat these mini kisses using my fingers, so I hope that they qualify.

This week’s theme is about rice … That’s suman, which is also made from rice (though it’s the sticky kind ~ malagkit). That was a pasalubong from my sister who went to Antipolo during the weekend. It surprisingly tasted real good. I asked her to bring me some suman again if she decides to go back. Hmmm … maybe it’s about time I visit the place myself! lol. ps. ate that together with hot choco … yumm!

That’s a salad which I made one afternoon after I found out we still had some aurugula and iceberg lettuce inside the refrigerator. My son wasn’t too crazy about the red onions, but still he ate his share. lol. Looks like I am already late! LOL … This week’s theme is Fried/Golden and here’s my contribution:
That’s fried calamari from TGI Friday’s when hubby and I went on a lunch date. I would definitely order that again!

This week’s theme is about breakfast, and this is one of my son’s favorite breakfast: pancakes! He loves them together with bacon in maple syrup (yup, he loves putting maple syrup on his bacon, too! lol).

Couldn’t find something red for this week’s LaPiS entry … except for this watermelon shot I took some time ago (and I believe I posted a similar shot before …). It’s quite hot today, so this fruit would be a perfect snack!

Crunchy Pinipig on Guinumis Guinumis is actually sort of like halo-halo … so far the only place where we can get this is at Ponciana’s along Timog (Quezon City), though I have heard that Via Mare serves them, too. The toppings consist of the crunchy pinipig (toasted rice) and some gulaman (gelatin) and sago. Coconut milk is used as well, including muscovado sugar. Plus lots of ice, too!

Almost late again for my La.Pi.S. entry … I really should post my entries earlier!! It’s a good thing Ces is so understanding… thanks, sis! For me, when there’s a birthday going on, a cake should always be around … I must admit, it’s because I have a sweet tooth. lol.

That’s actually not a Filipino soup, but Japanese in origin (ramen). Still, the theme calls for “soup”, and I’m afraid that’s the only shot I can find in my computer right now … ;P Am posting my LaPiS entry earlier than usual …

Ermmmm… This should have been posted last Sunday, but wasn’t able to do that since I wasn’t feeling too well. The theme for this week is “soft” and the insides of this peach mango pie is indeed soft and mushy. It’s got bits of mushy mango and peaches in there, with just the right amount of “crispiness” from the crust … and just the thought of it is making me drool right now! ;p

It’s so hot today … decided to have halo-halo delivered. Honestly, I can’t eat all of that. I didn’t grow up eating the stuff, but hubby did. He can eat all of that by himself! Our son isn’t so much into halo-halo, too. So usually my son and I share this one while we order another one for hubby. |
