Food Friday

The first shot looks like bacteria which has ran amok, i know. While my son said that he can see a lion. I don’t know why. ![]()
That is actually a macro shot of Double Walnut Brownie from Starbucks (I have been patronizing their store more often these days, lol), which hubby got for me a couple of days ago. Tasted good.
I have a sweet tooth, and he knows it!

Thankful Thursday
I haven’t had the chance to post for Thankful Thursday for a couple or so of weeks now … or has it been a month?! :p
but am happy to be here now, and the main thing that I am really thankful for is that my little one’s health is better! having my sisters to help me when hubby’s not around is a big thing, too.
Thank God for family!

~ I spit it out, if it feels yucky. ;P

~ Arce Dairy, FIC, Haagen-Dazs (super mahal lang! ugh), Selecta, Ben & Jerry’s, Dairy Queen, …have i forgotten anyone?
4. What non-carbonated, and non-alcoholic beverages do you like to drink?
~ i like frappuccino, calamansi juice, and warm milk.
5. What food are you craving right now?
~ oh my … too many: fish stew (we call them tinolang isda back home, wherein you use nothing else but the freshest fish for cooking), spag in puttanesca sauce, super super moist chocolate cake, langka, marang, biko, ice cream, turon … and the list could go on and on!

Weekend Snapshot: Dinner

Messy table and messy weekend dinner. Loved the food (and drinks), though. ![]()

Ready …
My sister has been hesitant about getting her own passport since she thinks that she won’t be needing one (no plans going abroad). However, a friend has been telling her to travel with her abroad and to visit another classmate living there. She is tempted, and that’s why when she’s got the time, she will apply for a passport anytime soon.
As for me, my family and I got our passports two years ago. No plans yet in going abroad, but it’s better to be ready, huh?! ;P
Food Friday

That’s Pueblo Rice … from Chili’s. Hubby and the family ate at Chili’s last weekend and since I couldn’t accompany them, he was thoughtful enough to bring some of what they had there. First time I tasted this rice … loved it! Will order it when I get the chance to eat there myself.
Found a recipe for Chili’s Pueblo Rice:
PUEBLO RICE:
2 Tbsp. oil
2 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 cups diced onion
1 3/4 cups diced celery
1 1/4 cups diced carrot
1 1/2 tsp. seasoning salt
1 cup pineapple juice
1 1/2 cubes of vegetable stock (base) - dissolved in 1 cup of hot water
3 cups of water
1 cups of diced red and green (mixed) bell peppers
3 cups rice
TO PREPARE PUEBLO RICE:
(makes more than needed for the recipe)
Saute the veggies in the oil and butter until cooked.
Add seasoning salt, pineapple juice, vegetable stock, and water, and bring to a simmer.
Add bell pepper and rice. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and cook (covered) - approx. 15 minutes.
Remove from heat, and let stand until rice is tender.
*I was asked for the recipe regarding my last week’s Food Friday post and it is really quite simple:
2 eggs (beaten)
1 medium sized bitter gourd (halved, then sliced)
1/2 bellpepper
1 red onion
3 cloves garlic
oil
salt and pepper to taste
All you need to do is cook first the bitter gourd in oil (not too much, just enough to make them “sweat”), then add in the bellpepper, onion, and garlic. After that add the beaten eggs, (then sprinkle salt and pepper) and to make them ‘fluffy’, use a fork to mix them around, until everything’s cooked. Serve while hot.*

ps. i know, could be a health hazard, but still …
Tagged!
Got tagged by Liza over at A Simple Life … thanks for remembering me, sis!
1. Do you have a broad sense of humor? I’d like to think so … lol.
2. Is it possible to have a truth without an opinion? Now that’s weird … but that could be possible.
3. What amount of money would you shave your head for charity? I wouldn’t mind shaving my head at all, if it’s really for a good cause. Hair will grow back again, anyway. Besides, it could be fun!
4. Do you find it easy to be totally honest with someone even though it might hurt their feelings? It’s never easy, specially if you know that it will hurt someone else’s feelings.
5. When people you know are laughing to themselves while reading, do you ask them to share what is funny? Sometimes …
6. What stresses you out the most? Lots of things stresses me out (lol) … but I try to deal with them one thing at a time.
7. Could you go one full day without speaking? Maybe, if it’s for a good cause. lol.
8. Would you rather ask the question or answer it? Both.
9. What is the one thing that always makes you smile? A good picture … or a really yummy feast! lol.
10. Do you trust in love? Why not?!

As usual, no rush, ladies … take your time.
Silly …
When I was still in the corporate world (though I wasn’t really almost always in the office since I was assigned a field work, which I loved) I hated it everytime we were told to report to the office for our weekly meetings. I must admit I am not much of an office girl, and that’s why I was really glad I was given a job which requires me to be outside the office most of the time. We were sometimes asked our opinions about certain promotional products which our office makes and some of them, I must admit, were downright silly! What’s surprising is that sometimes the silliest ones are the ones that do get the most attention and profit! lol.
Lifestyle thing …
I know some friends who would like to try those appetite suppressants you can find over the counter; and one time they were really so desperate to shed off those unwanted pounds that they almost bought a couple without consulting a doctor. I believe that it’s great to reach your ideal weight, but we must always be careful when we do try to lose weight. There are numerous stories of people losing weight only to get it back again after a couple or so of months. It’s a lifestyle thing; you must change your lifestyle (like do more exercises, eat right, etc.) to make sure you ward off those unwanted fats!
