When I took this shot I was expecting the fly to “buzz off” after the flash. And it did! LOL. I am not really a big fan of the flash, but since I am still experimenting with the camera … used the ‘auto’ function at that time. It’s ok, I guess. But I am not really that overly satisfied with the lens that came with the kit. I want something more. I mean, am hankering for those macro and telephoto lenses!

I know, I know … that will have to wait.

I am ticklish, so I don’t think I’d enjoy a massage therapy. I know, some people would enjoy it, like hubby. He says it relaxes him; I haven’t tried them yet, but am not too keen about it. I just am not that comfortable with other people touching me.

Still, who knows … one of these days I just might surprise myself; like going to a spa, and come out enjoying it!

It’s so hot these days … am wishing we’re at the province! Sure, it could be hot there, too (but am so sure not as hot HERE, where there are less trees around us) .. but there’s just something about spending leisurely times there. Or maybe I just miss home.

Maybe after we get to pay our son’s tuition fee next month … we may go to the province. Just maybe.

If you have a business of your own (or maybe you’re an accountant and works for a company), then I believe that financial reporting is really important. Am not an accountant, by the way, but I’ve got a brother who’s in that sector. He used to bring these papers from work and when I’d ask him what they were all about, he’d say laughingly, “Numbers!”. That got me running away from him and his papers most of the time.

Some of our pillows have been around for ages (yeah, isn’t that weird?), but we haven’t really been using them all the time. Most of them are stored in the cabinet, together with some moth balls. They only get to see the light of day when a guest arrives. Am not really such a huge fan of pillows, but I guess I view them as a necessity. Some people love hugging those big ones, or even the cute ones, but not me.

That’s soul food for me …

Just simply pork boiled-tender together with tanglad (lemongrass), ginger, onion, potatoes, and pechay (native cabbage), cooked outdoors. Of course, you need to add salt, too! lol.

Tastes great together with hot, steamy rice ….

Food Friday

I can’t remember when I actually heard Mariah Carey sing, but what I remember most was that her voice was totally different from the other singers, and what’s more: she had a distinct singing style of her own. Her style evolved through the years, and I must say, she has more fans today than before! Of course, we can’t disguise the fact that she has a pretty and charming face, too!

I believe that she just recently launched her newest album, ‘E=MC2‘, with new songs like “I’m That Chick,” “Bye Bye” and “I Wish You Well.” I’m sure that these will be on top of the hit charts real soon! Am excited about the new launching and I can’t wait to get my hands on my own copy!

I believe that things happen for a reason. I might not feel good about it, but in the long run I know that I just have to accept it. I guess for me the worst part is the accepting process. But I am glad that aside from friends and family (both here in the internet and ‘outside’), there is always that SOMEONE I can turn to. Yup, you guessed it right: The Lord.

I am so thankful that my parents taught us to respect and put our trust in God. Always. Am so thankful that my husband was brought up the same way, too. I just hope that our son will grow up the same way. I have faith.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1)

Thankful Thursday

I remember one time when hubby found himself locking one of our bedroom doors and he couldn’t find the key! He had no choice but to break the door lock, and of course, buy a new one at a local shop with door hardware products.

Am happy to say that something like that has never happened to me … though of course it might happen in the future! I just hope I will be able to fix it!

Last weekend we went to an open market to buy fresh produce; granted, they were a bit expensive than the supermarket at the mall, but you just can’t replace the freshness as well as the diversity of the products being sold at the open market. It was a chance for me to take some shots with the camera, too … LOL.

Below is a shot taken after we did the marketing thingy. I just couldn’t bring the camera around the market; people would stare, and that’s something I’m not too keen about.
