Food Friday: Salty Pretzels

Yeah, these pretzels were pretty salty for my taste … didn’t get to finish the whole pack! Gave most of them to my sister, who loves them!

I loved the ones that we can get locally (though the last time I read the nutrition facts and stuffs, they weren’t baked from around here! lol), because they were baked together with some sesame seeds… will see if I can get a pack this weekend.

“Modern” home gadgets

When I was younger we used to have these really antique-looking flat irons which was filled with hot charcoal every time we had to use it. Yeah, it took quite some time before you can finally start ironing your clothes during those days, and the clothes then were almost always starched! Well, not really all of them, but I remember the linens, blankets, and some table clothes had to be starched. My mom said that starching them will keep their “lives” longer. I never really did get to understand that; all I really noticed that time that to iron all our school uniforms and the bedsheets, blankets, and other linens took the whole day! Those days we had helper, then, so we weren’t troubled much with household chores. But when I got older mom wanted us to learn how to do the houseworks so we were “forced” to do them. I tried to stay away from ironing because it took whole day to finish that chore (it was mostly done on a weekend), while with washing the clothes it only took a couple or so of hours … and a back pain. lol. But all that has changed now in my mom’s household. Since they only have one helper there now, the washing and ironing doesn’t take whole day anymore! Yup, they now have a washing machine as well as a couple or so of flat irons!

I can never really say how thankful I am for the benefits these “modern” gadgets bring to our homes … suffice it to say that I am one happy homemaker partly because of them!

Good Decision

When my family and I used to live in the province we were renting this big house on top of a small hill and it really had such an awesome view! I specially like the sunsets there and I used to take plenty of shots, too. We enjoyed listening to music while relaxing in the balcony, and so hubby decided to buy some entertainment equipments with these numerous speakers. But he forgot to consider any speaker mount, though, so the speakers had to stay on the floor for quite some time!

Everything turned out fine in the end: we decided to give away some of the speakers when we left the house.
