Thankful Thursday: Blessings

Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday again!

Ever since I was small we have been taught by not only our teachers, but also by our parents, that we should always be thankul for everything that happens. It might seem insignificant to others, but being thankful is a great act.

Yesterday I got something from the mail (yeah, the SNAIL mail! lol) and that’s it below:
Dove Gift Pack
Actually, I was thinking it would be those “babies”, but it looks like it was another surprise: my Dove Gift Pack! :)

Another great thing that happened this week was that my son got some perfect scores in their unit tests! I have slowly been trying to let him study on his own (he’s now 8years old) these days so that he will develop the habit of studying by himself, and not wait for me to prod him all the time! :)

And last, but not the least: I have been feeling much better these days again!
I guess all those happenings during the past month has been kind of taxing for me; but am so glad that lately I have been feeling like myself again.

So great to be alive and thankful!

Vacation Planning

Hubby has always wanted to be able to travel abroad, and it’s a good thing that his current work has enabled him to do just that! He has already been to a few countries abroad and has marveled about how different things were from home. As for me, I haven’t had the pleasure of traveling outside the country yet, but I do enjoy looking at sites that feature travel/vacation packages and offer Hotel Guides to some countries.

The first country that I would love to visit would be Thailand! It might seem a bit similar to my country right now, but I guess that’s what attracted me to the place: being similar, but not. Do I make any sense here? LOL.

Chiang-Mai has been mentioned by a Thai friend frequently that I sometimes feel that it’s such a great place, even if I haven’t been there yet. Learning bits and pieces about the place has strengthened my resolve to be able to visit the place someday.

Right now trying to compute how much it might cost my family and I to travel there is the first step. Good thing I can have an idea how much staying in a hotel there might cost us by just browsing online and trying to find some suitable sites! :)

Wanted to post this video/song after hearing Doris Day sing a while ago … It has been ages since I heard her sing! Heard her the first time when I was still quite young … an uncle (or was it my parents?!) liked her music and her movies.

Just look at the way she “moves” in that movie … such a classic! :)

Pre-valentine thoughts …

Valentin’s Day is getting nearer, and I am thinking of trying to give hubby something. It’s really not a ritual for us to be giving gifts at this time of year, but I guess it would be a nice surprise, don’t you think so? (Yeah, I hope he doesn’t get to read this!!! LOL.)

It’s a good thing he really isn’t the type to adorn himself with lots of jewelry, so the idea of me going to a men’s jewelry store is out of the picture. Maybe I’d go there, but only to look at some women’s jewelry! I won’t get myself anything, though, that’s for sure! hahaha…

Am still thinking what to give him; my practical side is telling me to get him something really useful, and I guess I will follow that thought! :)
