Wonderful Mom …

When we were younger, my mom used to have those silk chemises washed separately from the other clothes. I guess it’s because they were more delicate. When wearing dresses for the Sunday Mass, we used to wear one of those, too. I never was really comfortable in them, that’s why when I was older I got to wearing pants, even while going to church. Mom wasn’t too pleased, but it was really wonderful of her for accepting my decision.

Aren’t moms wonderful!!

A friend on a cruise … almost.

My friend who migrated to another country wanted to try those caribbean cruises which have been advertised on the internet. I told her that that sounds like a good idea, and it will be much better if she brings one of her friends. I’m not so sure, but I think going on a cruise all alone seems kind of … lonely.

But of course, it all depends on the person. Some value their privacy so much that only few people really get to know the real them. I don’t really judge them negatively because of that … that’s who and what they are! :)

I hope my friend will email me later this week and tell me if her trip will push through, or not… would have loved to tag along!

Son’s offer …

Right now, hubby is taking a nap. But he was supposed to clean the bathroom sink! Anyway, since he came home late last night from a business meeting, I guess he can sleep some more. :)

My eight-year old son, though, is offering to do the cleaning for his daddy. I think it’s sweet, but I declined his offer. After a couple or so more of years from now, let’s see if he will still volunteer!

Those days …

While we were living in the province, hubby and I used to buy and drink wine on a regular basis. The climate there was cooler compared to where we are now, so we weren’t really thinking of buying some wine coolers. But now that we’ve transferred, our routine has changed. We no longer get to drink together as often as we want to, partly because of different work schedules.

But that’s all right. When we do get the chance, it’s doubly special. :)

Thinking while eating …

I am thinking of opening my own savings account in a bank that will be compatible with my paypal account. Some banks here are still not sure how they stand with paypal since paypal was approved here only just recently. I am also interested in checking accounts, but still hesitant. I won’t be using it much, I guess, so maybe I’ll do that later.

I plan to open up an account online in a while … after I eat my snack! :)

Cheesy Mash at My Dish

While I was still in college, I used to compile these clippings that I made from magazines (sometimes old ones) of recipes which really interests me. I even frequented those second-hand bookstores for old recipe books. Or for new ones, but I guess I was more interested in the old ones, specially the ones which had notes on the sides of the pages. I had quite a collection then, but when I had to transfer to a dormitory I was forced to leave them behind my parent’s house. It wasn’t really hard leaving my collection, because I just know that I can collect some more. I just wish that I brought along that recipe book with notes on the sides, though. It was really a treasure.

It’s a good thing there’s My Dish where I will be able to start compiling my recipes online! I chanced upon the site yesterday, and I’m thinking of signing up there. It would be wonderful viewing other members who have uploaded their family recipes to share. I really like that. Some homemade recipes in my opinion are more interesting than commercial ones. Just look at this Cheesy Mash recipe by Cheff over at My Dish. I like the idea of putting mustard to it, something which I haven’t tried, yet.

Once I get more time to dabble in the computer I will try registering over at My Dish. I really like the site’s idea. Think you’d want to tag along? :)
