House Needing Improvement

There’s this house in our hometown which was built much earlier than our house (our house was build around 40 years ago), and the materials being used are just exquisite. Money was really no problem for them those days, since you can see that the wood being used as the flooring for the second floor were really huge slabs. It was being made shiny and also polished by the numerous helpers that they had during those years. I can still remember, we used to play inside their guest room, jumping mostly on the bed. After a while (of jumping) we got so tired; we stayed inside the room till we were called for lunch.

Right now everytime we pass by the house, I can’t help but feel a bit sad. It is in a kind of sorry state nowadays because nobody would take the responsibility to treat the house with the home improvement that it so deserves. The windows are already slightly askew, but still hanging on. I’m so sure that if Anglian home improvements were made to take on the job they’d do a swell job out of it! They are proud of the quality of their craftmanship that they are giving their customers a 10 year guarantee in all the projects that they finish. Now that’s good service, don’t you think so?

Finding a Job

Are you in need of a job? I know of some friends who aren’t really happy with their jobs, and are trying to find other means of getting more money. One reason why she didn’t feel happy, a friend informed me (I was really curious, since she seemed to have this awesome job at a prestigious company, and yet she said that she wasn’t satisfied with her job!) was because of the pay. Well, I should have guessed, but still, she looked like she was having a grand time. She said that she wanted to go abroad and find her luck there. We haven’t had the chance to get together again, and do some chatting, but I know that the next time we meet, I will inform her about this company, Now Hiring Canada.

It’s free to register, confidential, flexible, efficient, and will increase your chance of getting a job because of the exposure. Those are just some of the reasons why she should try out that site. Their site is really easy to browse, and user-friendly. A resume can be made directly on the site, too. That’s really convenient. So once you see a job being offered, and you like it, all you have to do to send your resume, when it’s needed, is just click a button! Think she’ll be interested? I really hope so.

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

Nothing much has been happening lately, and I guess for that I am thankful! :)

But here are some “little” things that happened this past week that really meant a lot to me:

  • Seeing my sister again (well, it has only been about four months since we’ve seen each other, but usually it’s us who visits them, not the other way around), when her work required that she visit their main office (which is just around two blocks away from us).
  • A new chair/storage chest being made for us, which will be finished by this week.
  • We got to try a new restaurant which served breakfast buffet style (eat-all-you-can!) at a very affordable price, and the food tasted really great! Our son wanted to eat there again (usually the only restaurants he likes are Japanese!).
  • The whole family (my in-laws) will be together again this weekend (but it is a sort of sad occasion; it’s going to be the 40th day since my FIL passed away).
  • … and last, but not the least, I am always thankful for the wonderful blessings; those “little blessings” that sometimes we just don’t seem to notice when we’re busy: an understanding pat, a child’s hug, a hubby’s encouraging words, and your family telling you ” … love you!” every chance that they can get. :)

How about you?

I’m thankful for every moment.

Online Coupons

If you’re like me who just loves getting/buying stuffs on a discount, then you would also love Coupon Chief! What’s really great about this site (aside from the easy browsing) are the numerous coupon codes you can get! More than enough, actually, for the whole family!

And since the Christmas holidays are drawing near (well, there is also holloween time; I didn’t forget that!), it is now a good idea to start looking around for gifts! For my 8year-old son, I know he’s going to love the Walmart coupon for the Nintendo Wii, while hubby would definitely drool over the mens sale items which can be found at their Gap deals. I, on the other hand would love to get that 5-15% off on select digital cameras (with free shipping!) from their Best Buy coupons.

That’s just for the three of us, but I assure you, you’ll find lots more deals and coupons over at Coupon Chief! So to start off with your Christmas list, check out their coupons and don’t hesitate to use them! It’s really economical, but what’s really great would be the expressions you’ll see when you give that special gift to the one that you love, and you know that it has been the one that they wanted most! And don’t forget: you got that at a discount! Now that’s precious … a real win-win situation!

Tagged!

I was tagged by She of Bookmarks with this interesting meme. Like what she said, it is “short and sweet“.

My Name: Maiylah
Childhood Ambition: To become a nun (yeah, yeah, don’t laugh, ok?! ). Blame it all on most of our elementary school teachers … they were nuns. But then we had this dog that I really had a wonderful bonding with (fyi, we had way too many dogs that time ~ 7-9), and so I vowed to be a veterinarian.
Soundtrack: Have always loved the music scores from the movie Lost Horizon …
Retreat: Playing with photoshop using my own pictures
Wildest Dream: Photographer for National Geographic (yeah! )
Proudest Moment: Seeing my son get the highest honor … in three of the schools he’s been to (yeah, we move around a lot … ).
Biggest Challenge: Keeping house
Alarm Clock: Same as She, my cellphone (Sunrise by Simply Red wakes me up).
Perfect Day: Going outside and taking pictures
Indulgence: chocolate!
Last Purchase: pair of shoes (Hush Puppies)
Favorite Movie: Not just one … I have lots!
Inspiration: Family
My life is: doing fine. just fine.
My card is: Visa

I won’t be tagging anyone with this meme, but if you want to play along, let me know (leave a comment) and I’ll check out your post!
