Last Friday (20July2007) we experienced a terrible rainshower, coupled with thunder and lightning, that lasted for about a couple or so of hours. That is a normal occurrence here in the Philippines, so I continued with what I loved doing … blogging! Together with blogging, I was also doing the laundry (hahaha, that’s multi-tasking!), so every now and then I had to stand up and check up on my clothes. G was watching tv. Suddenly, lightning flashed outside, and I heard a frightening clap of thunder (or was that just thunder??!!) follow after that. I smelled something burning, too. I rushed upstairs to see if a house or post got hit by lightning, but all looked normal. Anyway, when I looked at the monitor, I noticed that it was black … and my modem seemed unnatural with just two lights on. I assumed things will be normal after a few hours or so, so i continued with the laundry. but no …. So, i was forced to use hubby’s computer to do the rest of my blogging while he checked out what was wrong with the computer i was using …. Turned out the video card seemed to be busted … while the modem still wasn’t functioning. i finally called up PLDT on Sunday, and told them what happened. They just told me that someone will call me back. I waited … called again on Tuesday, since nobody called me back. Again, i was told that somebody will call. Pity. What was funny (and irritating) was that i had to “recite” what happened again and again. Annoying?!! You betcha! Now it’s already Wednesday (imagine … almost 5 days with no internet connection!!!!PLDT people, hello! hello! hello!), and still my modem (or is it my line??!!) isn’t working. Am using dial-up right now … and it is kind of slow. But … this is much better than nothing!

Online Storage nowadays are so important, that’s why it is a must that we be informed what products are available out there. Researching and comparing offered products is needed so that we won’t regret our decision to stick to a certain provider. Knowing that you have chosen a product with excellent services and features would also lessen the heartaches and headaches you’ll encounter. IBackup.com came highly recommended as a reliable online storage and backup. Now backing up your precious files need not be so tiresome anymore because of IBackup’s webfolders. With webfolders you can drag-and-drop, cut-n-paste, and even do direct editing of the files between the PC and your ibackup account; you can download and upload the files that you want and be sure that they are safe. Scheduling backups of important files can also be done on a regular basis. Create a free trial account now, and if you still have lots of questions, don’t forget to visit their FAQ page.

Yesterday we were supposed to just buy G additional clothes for school, and so we did. But since we were at the mall already, and we happened to park the car right in front of the mall door (yeah, really really lucky!) we decided to watch a movie, too! We were debating whether to watch Transformers, or Harry Potter … and the latter won. Bought the tickets around 30mins before the show … and since we had nowhere to go, we decided to wait in front of the theater. While eating popcorn and drinking the soda. hahaha. Loved the buttery taste. We were the first to go sit inside … felt real weird! Pretty soon people came and filled the chairs. Though it wasn’t that full. Plenty of chairs left, specially the lower sections. The movie itself was great … loved the special effects. Was amazed how “older” HP looked compared to the previous HP movies. Not that cute anymore. G didn’t fall asleep, but kept asking me about the movie while we were watching. He wanted to know what would happen next. hahaha, of course, i didn’t know! so he said,”ok, i’ll ask later.” Interesting thing while watching: never knew some people bring pizza to eat inside … or burgers and fries. Oh well, nothing really weird … a sister once brought banana! There was this really irritating movie watcher, who kept giggling behind us. Imitating Dolores Umbridge (Dolores Umbridge (In-Depth Analysis)), which really was annoying. I guess whoever was with her got annoyed, too, since after I heard a “ssshhhh!” it stopped. All in all, i loved watching the movie. Though I wouldn’t watch it in the big screen again. Would much rather watch it here at home; where i can watch it again and again.

Ever attached a file to an email, then while waiting for it to upload, suddenly it stops and says that the file is too large? Don’t you just hate that? It has happened to me lots of times already, that’s why sometimes I have had to resort to sending the large files one by one. A tedious job, isn’t it? You bet it is! Good thing there’s this free online file sharing site called driveway. There’s no need to register, you can use it online right away. What’s quite neat about the site is the file-sharing 2 - Driveway widgets. You can edit the file online without having to download it; with just a few clicks, editing the online files is so easy and convenient. The maximum file size of sharing is 500MB. Using your gmail or yahoo email add, you can now send larger files the easier and convenient way! Try it!

We Could Learn A big black dog and a Calico cat The dog growled and barked so loud The big dog rolled its dark brown eyes The crowd noticed and applauded again They lay near one another in total peace Man could and should learn a lesson or two Leona I. Miller

I recently came across this interesting news blog where Gaurav Bhola also contributes. First, I was impressed by the blog’s lay-out, making it look like a no-nonsense business blog. So appropriate, since that is exactly what this site is all about ~ a news and business blog that delivers. The frankness and variety of the topics together with a witty humor here and there helps keep the site interesting; too bad some of the pages aren’t filled yet. So the next time you decide to do some serious blog reading, don’t forget to check out Gimmie the Scoop; a news blog different from the rest since they aren’t the type to shy away from controversy … in fact, they encourage it! Now that’s blogging!

The Malcontent: Name something you’re unhappy with. 4. The Meritorious: Give someone credit for something and name it if you can. 5. The Mirror: See something good about yourself and name it. 6. The Make-Believe: Name something you wish for. this has really been an interesting melee!

Isn’t it wonderful if you find something when in the first place you weren’t even looking for it? G (my son) and I were just walking along, when we saw this nice weed flower. I am assuming it is a weed, since we just saw it along the side of the road. There were a few other nice-looking flowers there, too … again, i think they were weeds?!! We couldn’t find any garden nearby, but there were a few sporadically located houses further away.
We would have continued on, were it not for a pair of geese staring menacingly at us … hahaha. We were chased once, when we used to live in the province. The school’s neighbor had a pair of geese and it was just our tough luck we were passing when the geese got out through the gate. Since then, we have been pretty careful. Now, that is a weed flower, right? Or something like that. Technorati Tags:weeds, my daily snippets |
