Food Friday

It has been raining here on and off lately … that’s why this addiction (hot choco any time of the day) is coming back again! LOL
*that’s the “instant” hot choco from Pan de Manila; they also have the “white choco” blend, but I still prefer this one.*

Saving up … for something
These days my family and I are more conscious of what we buy, so we make sure that we get our money’s worth. That doesn’t necessarily mean we get the expensive stuffs (some of them aren’t worth that much, or not exactly what you need … sometimes you’re just paying for the brand and you end up paying more), but we get what we want at the price that is comfortable for us.
That principle I also try to employ when I buy online. I want to get the best buy for stuffs that I need/want like the ones in www.buy.com. I admit I frequent their site because of the deals that they are offering, as well as to be updated with the current prices. I am saving up for something … lol.
Food Friday

Lately my family and I have been having this craving for burgers … so we ate out (too lazy to prepare our own, lol) or ordered dinner/lunch. Works fine with me (and hubby), since that means less dishes to wash.
*Burger above was from Brother’s Burger (their Sta. Fe burger); tasted great! but too big for me, lol.*

One of these days …
I have always wanted to have a house of my own and hubby did get us a house and lot when we lived in the province a few years back. But since he had to change jobs we had to move to another city here in Metro Manila. We don’t regret the move, but I sure do miss having a home of our own, with ample space. I used to have a big lawn back then; and it’s something that’s quite a rarity here in the city. Unless, of course, you can get one of those designs similar to Outer Banks rentals! lol. I like to putter around in the garden and take shots of the little/big insects that frequent the greens.
Oh well … one of these days …
Early morning rambling …
Like most people, I want to be secure. I want to be assured that I can still live the lifestyle that I want even during my old age. Of course, that might mean lesser traveling (to far off places that require strenuous physical effort, lol). But that’s fine with me, as long as I am comfortable, together with my family. Or all alone. I guess I should consider something like a term life insurance. I did get myself a life insurance a while back, and have finished all the payments. However, the amount that I’ll be getting is quite small … still, it’s something.
Just listen to me rambling this early early morning …. lol.
*yawn*
Food Friday

I know it’s been raining lately (in my part of the world), but my family and I just coudn’t resist buying ice cream … specially if it’s as yummy as the one above.
*my ice cream shot came out looking weird .. good thing it still tasted good! LOL*

Take-Outs
One of my dream is to be able to visit different countries and take in all the different sights and cultures that I can! And of course that includes getting to know (and specially TASTE!) some of their culinary works, too! My family and I have moved quite a bit a few years back when my eldest son was still young, and I must admit that the moving part is tedious (really!!) but once we were settled in we just came to love the surroundings. Some things were disagreeable, but that’s just natural since we can’t have what we want all the time. We learned to adjust and even came to adapt their dialect. lol. But after our third move we finally decided to “stay” longer. Our eldest son is now ten years old and loves his current school, so for now we are living here in the city. I find the delivery system here pretty convenient, too. I mean, if I fail to cook breakfast/lunch/dinner … well, we can always have food delivered!
Which reminds me of my cousins living in New York. They used to live here in the city (and ordered lots of take-outs), but decided to migrate to the United States when an opportunity became available. They said that there are lots of Things to do in New York and sometimes they just don’t have enough time; really quite unlike our place in the province where everything seems to be at a standstill. lol. They did try those sightseeing tours and had lots of fun (and pictures!). They’ve been there for more than ten years now and I wonder if things have changed much for them. They did say that they still order lots of take-outs, though.
